With the popularity of HGTV and DIY television shows depicting that designing, renovating or remodeling is a quick, easy and fun project that always results in a beautiful space, it’s no wonder that so many people think that they, too, are capable of pulling off such a task. While everyone does have their own style and preference, figuring out how to get what’s in their head into a real live space can be rather difficult.
First of all, those shows only televise what people want to see. They don’t spend precious air time showing the real-life hours and hours of searching for just the right product in the perfect size and color that fit within a specific budget. They also don’t show the time it takes to clean the mess that has to be cleaned up pretty much daily. And they certainly don’t show the significant staff they retain to take care of these not fun, not quick jobs.
